ECNS 2011
5th EUROPEAN CONFERENCE ON NEUTRON SCATTERING
17-22 July 2011 - Prague, Czech Republic
ECNS2011, the 5th European Conference on Neutron Scattering, will be held in Prague, Czech Republic from 17th to 22th July 2011. This meeting is organized on behalf of the European Neutron Scattering Association (ENSA) by the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics of the Charles University in Prague and the Nuclear Physics Institute of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic.
ECNS-2011 continues the successful series of meetings that have been held in:
- Interlaken 1996
- Budapest 1999
- Montpellier 2003
- Lund 2007
Neutron scattering brings together many scientific disciplines. In the tradition of these ECNS conferences all aspects of the technique and the application of neutron scattering will be discussed. The topics to be covered by ECNS2011 include:
- A - Neutron sources and facilities
- B - Neutron instrumentation, optics, techniques and software, Imaging
- C - Fundamental physics
- D - Structure and spectroscopy of solids
- E - Magnetism and magnetic excitations
- F - Superconductivity
- G - Glasses and Liquids
- H - Thin Films and Interfaces
- I - Soft condensed matter
- J - Biology
- K - Functional materials and Engineering
- L - Applied science (Energy, Environment, Geosciences, Cultural Heritage)
Cultural Heritage
The conference is planned for broad participation: users of neutron techniques and developers of neutron instruments and facilities will both be strongly represented. Potential and new users of neutrons can learn about techniques and facilities while established users can hear about new applications.
